The focus of Lions Clubs International work as a service club organisation is to raise money for worthy causes. All funds raised by Lions Clubs from the general public are used for charitable purposes, and administrative costs are kept strictly separate and paid for by members. Monies raised go toward projects that benefit the local community of individual clubs, district, country and international.

Ever since Helen Keller inspired us to champion the cause in 1925, we’ve served and advocated for the blind and visually impaired. Nearly a century later, this long-standing mission continues unhindered.
We serve to improve human flourishing. We see how the global hunger and nutrition crisis bears upon our local communities, and believe true community improvement depends on the thriving of its members.
Lions from around the world voted to make diabetes our primary cause moving into the future. Once this was decided, we didn’t waste any time. We got right to work, educating communities on the issue—while establishing initiatives and programs to improve the lives of those living with diabetes and helping prevent others from developing type two diabetes.
LCIF offers grants to Lions districts and multiple districts in amounts from US$10,000 to US$150,000. The goal of the LCIF Childhood Cancer Pilot Grant Program is to improve the quality of life for children receiving treatment and their families.
Whenever and wherever disaster strikes, Lions are often among the first to offer aid. And LCIF is right there with them, ready to support their efforts with funding assistance through local and global disaster relief programs.
Young people are vital to everything we do as a foundation. We make sure they’re always considered and represented in every program and initiative we support. Our Lions ensure their global efforts support youth in need, while also giving young people the opportunity to serve.
