Australian Lions Foundation

Provides financial assistance and support in cases of National Disaster, Emergency and Community Welfare, encouraging International Understanding and Cooperation by Relief projects in Developing Countries. When disaster strikes the Australian Lions Foundation is amongst the first to offer disaster relief.
When Cyclone Tracey decimated Darwin in 1974, to the devastating bushfires that impacted areas of South Australia and Victoria in 2015, the Australian Lions Foundation has been on the ground providing financial assistance and support to local communities in times of need.
We continue to fulfil this need not only in Australia and Papua New Guinea, but also internationally where our emergency relief and community welfare projects contribute to global understanding and cooperation. Formed with the sole purpose of assisting people in times of need, these are just a few of our current initiatives:

Australian Lions Children Mobility Foundation

The Foundation seeks funding for Hart Walkers and other mobility devices to allow children affected by Cerebral Palsy to stand and walk to the best of their ability. Working hand in hand with the State Cerebral Palsy Associations, this foundation is a concept of our Lions Clubs District and an innovation of Australia Lion Parry Palmer AM, a past International President of Lions Clubs International.

The Australian Lions Drug Awareness

Foundation comprising ordinary Australians and drug abuse experts, was formed by Lions Australia in 1984. The Australian Lions Drug Awareness Foundation (ALDAF) has been serving Australia for over 25 years to provide alcohol and other drug information to the Australian Community, and in more recent years we have focused on youth health demonstrating an ability to create projects that achieve results. With innovative and modern projects, combined with useful factsheet based resources the foundation helps thousand every year.

Lions Club International Foundation

LCIF helps Lions improve peoples’ lives around the world, from combating vision problems to responding to major catastrophes to providing valuable life skills to youth. Lions NSW-ACT Sight & Health

The types of projects supported by Lions NSW-ACT Sight & Health include purchase of equipment for sight, medical or health institutions or to purchase equipment for groups or individual members of the community who are handicapped, disabled or have infirmities. The Lions Clubs in our District 201N5 and other N districts are eligible to apply for this funding assistance for their community.

Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research

ALCCRF’s vision is 100% survival of kids with cancer. Today survival rates average 80%. There is much work that still needs to be done, if one day we are to prevent all kids with cancer from dying.

Funds you and Lions Clubs donate to ALCCRF will go to childhood cancer research conducted across Australia which specifically targets improved survival rates. Lions have supported childhood cancer research in one way or another for over 30 years and now with our efforts focused through ALCCRF we can be proud that we are truly making a difference in the fight towards our vision of 100% survival for all children with childhood cancer. Australian Lions Hearing Dogs

We have transformed the lives of hundreds of Australians by providing independence, security and confidence. As well as being loyal companions for many years, some of our dogs have even saved lives. With the support of Lions Clubs across Australia, we have been providing trained Hearing Dogs to those in need since 1982. An Australian Lions Hearing Dog can be any shape or size, as the majority of our dogs are sourced from pounds, shelters and rescue organisations.




NSW-ACT Nurses Scholarship Foundation

The Nurses Scholarship Foundation Ltd was created for the provision of scholarships for registered nurses in NSW and the ACT to undertake advanced studies in Australia, or overseas.

The mission of the Nurses Scholarship Foundation Ltd is to provide the opportunity for nurses in NSW & ACT to continue their professional development.

Scholarships of varying value are granted to nurses in NSW & ACT each year. Follow Your Dream Foundation

The Follow Your Dream Foundation, Australia was set up in 2013-14 with an aim to help disadvantaged Women and Children. The acceptance can take many forms like health, education and income generation. The Foundation has a Board of Trustees that oversees the running of the Foundation. Contributions can be made by individuals, group of people, Lions Clubs, Organisations, NGOs, etc.
